Appropriately Named Song

This song is certifiably badass, and it takes me back to about a year ago, when I up and quit my job - honestly for no real reason other than I was sick of the internal politics.  I used to make pretty decent flow until I said, "F*ck the Money."

"Well I'm a quit this crazy scene
Cause being (rich) ain't all what they make it to be
But back then y'all this was my favorite dream
But now, I wouldn't hesitate I would leave"

Now while I don't believe that either of them would, in fact, bail on their fame or fortune, the message is Perfect.  Don't hesitate.  If it sucks, bail out.  Don't rely on what you thought or what they say or what your parents want, but instead, believe in what you know about yourself...

2011 Coachella Lineup Released!

Joshua Tree Park Sunset the night before 2010 Coachella

Coachella has released their lineup for this year's festival.  It looks pretty sick, with a shit ton of bands that weren't at either ACL or Squatch last year.  While Saturday has some good shows, Friday and Sunday look to be amazeballs.  I wonder how Kanye feels about co-headlining with the Strokes?  Haters always tryin to take away from the black man...

Carls and I were in Joshua Tree with L2B2 the week before Coachella and met a few people headed to the festival.  We were tres jealous, so accordingly, Carls is already putting on the pressure to attend this year.  Here's to hoping!

Some of my highlights:

Friday
Kings of Leon
The Black Keys
The Chemical Brothers
Cee Lo Green
Cut Copy
Klaxons
Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears

Saturday
Animal Collective
Broken Social Scene
Scissor Sisters
New Pornographers
Gogol Bordello
Two Door Cinema Club
(scratch what I said above, Saturday sounds amazeballs too)

Sunday
Kanyeezy
Strokes
Ratatat
Nas (!!)
Chromeo
Angus and Julia Stone
Yelle
Delorean

Hot Beats = Baller Bets

Apparently, the word is out on Wiz Khalifa. I've been digging him for a couple years now, originally introduced to Wiz by another three letter 412 native, Woj. In fact, Wiz has been getting props from everyone recently, including King James earlier this fall on Twitter: "[Heard] Wiz Khalifa "Mezmorized" while getting a root canal on my tooth. Nice mellow track right there. Good new artist."

Although he's been getting more press recently, Wiz akshully hit the scene when he dropped his Pittsburgh Sound singlay in 2007, a tribute to the Iron City (and of course, himself...as rappers are wont to do).  The Pittsburgh theme is a recurring one for the 23 year old artist.  He recently put out his Black & Yellow single, which apparently, is catchy enough to inspire people to place bets on my hometown sports teams, which is just what Weezy's friend did after hearing this song ($20 on the Steelers to win the SuperBowl is not a horrible bet in and of itself, although perhaps you have qualms about backing Therapist Roethlisberger).  Anyway, I love this track and wish I was sippin' "cleeko" too...
